Good Parenting 101

Expand your horizon to include things that are all about your kids and their happiness. Expand that horizon a lot in fact.

Lovingly help them clap their hands when Elmo and his gang dance, sing and boogy their way across the stage.

Snap sweet photos to document all the fun things you do with your appreciative and loving child.

And then leave halfway through said horizon expanding show due to being puked on by loving and adoring child.

For real.

Poor Bugs was sick today, THE big day. We hadn't really told her about going to see Elmo because why open that can of worms but I know I was secretly excited to rock her world with some live Elmo action. I'm not kidding. Unfortunately, Addison was not feeling well this morning and we thought she was good enough to take in the show but that proved to be optimistic parenting on our part.

The good news is that she made it halfway through the show and it was awesome. She was mesmerized and couldn't believe Elmo was really in front of her. We also had the added bonus of unexpectedly having seats next to a fellow daycare friend from her class. Not sure they will still be our friends after bringing our sick kid to a venue with hundreds of other little ones but guess we'll see....

This is how Bugs celebrated her Sesame Street Live experience.

A serious power nap in the car that carried on while Mama held her in the rocking chair for another 45 minutes or so.

Poor sweetie! I think she probably thinks she dreamed up the whole Elmo part of her day!
