Hot! Hot! Hot!

Yes, it's true. Addison is going to be a big sister and she can't wait! This of course means that we are having another baby and we are thrilled!

We are late tellers and hadn't told anyone so on Thanksgiving Day, we had a plan to announce our wonderful news. Addison sported her new big sister t-shirt under her coat and we figured we would take off her coat and just wait and see what happened. I wasn't sure how long it would take but check out the video below to see the end result for yourself. So fun!

Baby Murray #2 is due to arrive May 31, 2010. (I'm 14 weeks)

Fourteen Months

Yes, this is delayed. What can I say, I basically told myself I would stop writing monthly letters to Addison once she turned one but it's hard to give up as she changes so much month to month. I hate to miss remembering any moment. My compromise is to consider doing a letter every two months (I originally planned on eighteen months and two years so we'll see). Moving on....

My Dear, Sweet Addison,

The last two months have been a total whirlwind and yet I am not sure we really 'did' much at the same time. There were less trips, visitors, dinners, etc but so much learning and growing. You are now a fully walking, running, stumbling go getter and it is very fun (and a smidge tiring). You really took your time transitioning from pulling up and toddling (which was a little early) to walking but once you made the commitment, you were in!

You love dancing and I have picked you up on more than one occassion to hear the daycare ladies telling me how you had them laughing so hard they were crying. You have a mean rump shake, my darling and you take it very seriously sometimes! You, Daddy and Mommy love to listen to the ipod while we dance/sing in the living room. You have also been singing lately which is too cute to watch. Grandma B bought you a Silent Night book that has a button you push to play the song (just music, no words). You will sit and push the button more times than I care to admit and while you so seriously watch the baby Jesus light up, you quietly 'sing' to yourself. It is heart stealing. Maybe someday I'll actually get it on video but that's a tall order because you're pretty busy.

You have also become a little kitchen mastro. You love to open 'your' cupboard, pull out your mixing bowl and oversized wooden spoon and mix, mix, mix to your hearts content. You totally put it over the top when you stop every once in awhile to 'taste' your creation while saying, 'mmm, mmm, mmm!' enthusiastically. The cuteness kills me.

There is so much more that you do every day that I wouldn't even know where to start. You continue to have a zest for life and it is contagious. You soak up everything around you and Daddy and I continue to be so proud of you every day.

You are simply the best.

We love you, baby girl.

Mommy

Yoga Party, Not Toga Party

On Saturday, Scott, Addison and I went to a little one year birthday celebration for all of the mommies and babies in my pre-natal yoga class. Most of the women had their babies about two months or so after me so the timing was right and it was so wonderful to see everyone even though we were very late due to a serious power nap by Buns. I only have a few pictures as it was tough to manage pictures, catching up and Addison while in a small restaurant space.

And of course, after exploring all of the adults and most of the babies, we found ourselves most fascinated by the entryway flooring. It made fun clanging sounds when you danced and stomped your feet on it.

We couldn't drag her away.

I wish we could have been at the whole party but it was so fun to see these women again and enjoy our tales of new motherhood and our babies.

Addison Meets The Park

**Warning - this is a very picture heavy post. It was just one of those days where the light was great and the Buns was extra cute.

There is a really wonderful park very close to our house. We brought Addison over there a couple of times this summer on our bikes so she could enjoy the swings. She thought it was fun but apparently another three months makes a huge difference in exactly how fun.

I for one can't wait to go back.

The Hair

Before Addison was born, I knew her hair would be an issue. Have you seen my hair? I had visions of a tiny little newborn with a full, thick dark toupe/afro type deal. Turns out I was right. And wrong.

She came out bald and stayed that way for a good six months or so. Then she finally started sprouting some hair. That's when I became right. It is an issue. But not like I imagined.

She's stuck in this awkward phase (already?!) where the hair is too short to do much with but too long to stay even remotely neat for any length of time. Not to mention the little mullet she's sprouting out back.

But dang, she's still cute as a button.

Batten Down The Hatches

Yes folks, the little one is finally mobile. And life is never going to be the same....

Addison has actually been 'toddling' for about three/four weeks now but in the last couple of weeks she really has taken off with walking. I expected her to toddle one day and be walking the next but that just wasn't the case. She took her time figuring out the situation but now, she's an old pro. Well, sort of.

It sure is fun to watch, that's all we know!

Splish Splash

(Disclaimer: I am fully aware of the uproar over some people posting bathtime photos of their kids. I think these meet the G rating standard.)

Addison long ago graduated to the big tub but we have not taken any photos of her bathtime antics in quite awhile. Bathtime has always been pretty enjoyable with her but even more so now as you see her mind working as she plays with her toys, sings songs, eats bubbles, splashes and has a general good time.

Eating her newest toy, an 'erasable' crayon for the bathtub. She somewhat gets it, somewhat not.

Daddy has even trained her to help put away her toys before getting out of the tub. Mommy was unaware of this until tonight so she has been letting Addison slide when she does bath night as Mommy usually cleans up on her own. Not anymore....

Jammy Jams

These photos aren't the greatest but I had to get a few shots the other night of Addison in her footed pj's. Little kids in footed pj's, especially when they are 'toddling' are quite the sight to see. Check out the frog feet.

She actually cried the first time she saw them as she kept trying to pull them off her feet and couldn't figure out why they wouldn't budge. She has since moved on.

Bananorama

Watching Addison eat can sometimes be a very funny prospect. It amazes me how much she can fit in her mouth/body and the rate of speed with which she consumes something of great interest to her.

Hmmm. Half a banana?


Mmrpphh. Munch, munch, much. Yes, sir. I'll take that.

Mmrpphh, mmrrpphh. What, do I have something on my face?

It really is that good.

And I'll warn you up front, don't get between her and a pint of raspberries. She can eat the whole thing in about four minutes. For real.

Happy Halloween - Part Two

Come on, it's cute. She has the rest of her whole life (or at least her toddler/young girl life) to be a princess.

Addison loved Halloween night at our house. She was so into it that she didn't want to leave the doorway. Checking out the neighborhood action with Grammy.

"Hey, people, get over here! I've got good candy for you!"

"Seriously! I'm generous!"

By the end of the night, she was actually handing out the candy as well, gleefully dropping into the waiting bags while squeeling at the receipiants.
